An Engineering Princess - A new STEM take on Christmas

Princess Eliza was brainy and bright
She kept herself busy from morning till night
With wood, lots of string and some pieces of wire
The princess could make anything you'd desire!

Princess Eliza lives on top of the world where the icy winds blow, in a beautiful palace carved out of the snow. But the woods are dangerous and wild, full of tigers and bears that might eat a small child.

Instead this feisty princess fills her days, and the palace, with fabulous inventions of her own making.

But she's lonely so, encouraged by her parents, Eliza sets out to make a new friend. But how?

She tries baking one from gingerbread, but he just jumps off the try and skedaddles away. Kissing a frog doesn't work either and when she tries dangling her long hair from her window, she waits for hours, but nobody comes. So much for the old fairy tale tricks! Eliza needs something much more inventive to get what she needs.

Spotting some smoke curling up through the trees, the princess decides to set off to find a friend in the woods. (leaving a note for her mum and dad of course). And she soon happens upon a little house full of elves who are in a terrible tizzy because they have too much work to do and not enough time.

Luckily Eliza has a few time-saving inventions up her sleeve and secretly helps the elves to get everything ready for the big day.  And as Santa arrives, recovered from a bout of the flu, Eliza is on hand to help deliver the presents in a souped-up snow-powered sleigh.

And does she make friends? You BET!
