WE WON!
The Girl who Planted Trees has WON the Teach Early Years Award, 2022 for Best Picture Book!
I’m absolutely thrilled with this win, particularly because this book was a total labour of love. I'm so grateful to the team at Nosy Crow for having the vision to help turn my initial ideas into something wonderful!
Teach Early Years is a fantastic resource for all educators. It's packed with advice, information and recommendations, and offers training on all aspects of early years education.
The book I initially submitted to Nosy Crow was VERY different to the story that was finally published, and it took a lot of editing to get the words just right. Luckily I had the expert guidance of my editor Alice Bartosinski and with much sweat and even a few tears, we finally crafted that manuscript into shape.
With Manda Scott doing a superb job on the design and of course the beautiful illustrations from Anastasia Suvorova, I really do feel incredibly lucky to have been able to turn my initial idea into something that we can all be very proud of.
The book has had so much love out in the world, and we’ve received many wonderful reviews, so winning this award really is wonderful.
Thank you to Teach Early Years for choosing our book!
