About this book

Sparkle has come up with a great idea for a game. She wants to perform a magic show and she’s asked Arthur to help her. But when Scout wants to join in, Sparkle struggles to change her plan. After several refusals, Scout bursts into tears and runs out to the playhouse.

Seeing his friend upset, Arthur follows Scout and they start a new game together. Only then does Sparkle understand what it’s like to feel left out - and she quickly makes amends.

Learning to get along with others can be tricky, and many children will relate to the predicament that Sparkle, Scout and Arthur find themselves in. This book is perfect for discussing feelings around co-operative play and empathy.
